No middle men, no surprises
Most jobs start with a message and a look at the space. Josh measures by hand, talks through what will and will not work, and puts a price and a timeframe in writing before anything is cut. There is no crew coming through behind him and nothing left for someone else to finish.
Measured once, twice, then cut
Bespoke work only looks right if the numbers are right. Josh checks his measurements before anything is marked, and marks it again before the saw comes out. That is why the finished piece sits flush instead of needing a filler strip.
Tidy as it goes
Dust sheets down, offcuts gathered, doors and floors protected, and the space left clean at the end of each day — not just at the end of the job. Clients mention it in almost every review, and Josh treats it as part of the work rather than a favour.
Qualified, insured, and honest about what is possible
Josh holds an NVQ Level 4 and carries full insurance for the work he does. If an idea will not work in your space, or will cost more than it is worth, he will say so at the quote stage rather than after the first day on site.
The treehouse that made the news
Josh and a fellow Newmarket carpenter spent six weeks building a treehouse in the French Alps for a family in Samoëns. Cambridgeshire Live wrote it up in August 2017.
